Illness Fatal to Mrs. Poole
Butler, Dec. 18- Mrs. Lena Bateman Poole, 80 years of age, died at her home in Butler,(GA) Tuesday after an illness of several days.
Mrs. Poole was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Green Bateman of Taylor County.
She was the widow of Mr. T. W. Poole of Reynolds.
After her husband's death many years ago, she moved to Butler where she has made her home since that time.
Mrs. Poole, is well known through the state. She was graduated with honors from Wesleyan College in Macon in the class of 1878.
She was engaged as music teacher in the Butler Male and Female College for a number of years.
She was one of the oldest members of the Butler Methodist Church.
Surviving her is one sister, Mrs. C. E. Brenns, Sr. of Butler and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the family residence Wednesday. The Rev. F. J. Gilbert officiated.
