Mr. Andrew Wilson Gossett, 79, of Port Arthur, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 1971, in Port Arthur.
Mr. Gossett was a former resident of Crockett, but had lived in Port Arthur for the past several years. He was retired from the Gulf Oil Co. His great grandfather gave the townsite for Crockett. Mr. Gossett was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Waller Chapel, with Rev. H. J. Rhodes officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Maude McVey of Port Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Hill of Grapeland and Mrs. H. J. Trube Sr. of Crockett; and three grandchildren, Mrs. Dick Walker, Mrs. Allen Hefty and Jimmy McVey, all of Port Arthur.
