Our beloved one was the youngest of four children born to the late John W. McCree, Jr. and Cora L. McCree. She was preceded in death by all her siblings, Otis Sr., Weldon, Hiram, and Ethel. She also was preceded in death by a nephew, Otis, Jr. Bernice was educated in the Fulton County School System and later attended Spelman College in Atlanta. She was employed as a school teacher then later worked in the health care field. She received Christ at an early age and joined Laster Chapel United Methodist Church (her families church) where she served and remained a member until her illness. Through life's growing pains, challenges and disappointments, the hand of God was on her life, it was the trying of her faith that helped to develop her patience. Bernice along with her sister Ethel (her best friend) strongly supported there niece, Theresa who they helped to raise and preceded them in death. Also, she loved the color lavender, which she would often wear. Bernice B. McCree departed this life after an extended illness. As Bernice leaves this earthly home to enter eternal rest, she leaves among those to cherish her legacy and memory three goddaughters, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and devoted friends. We commend Bernice to the serenity, peace and the blessing of eternal life.

Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest; Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast. We loved thee well, but Jesus loves thee best.
