Funeral services for Henry W. Mensing, 78, of Blue Earth, Minn., a former Lowden resident, who died Aug. 11 after a month's illness, were held Aug. 14 in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Blue Earth, Minn., with burial in Riverside cemetery at Blue Earth.

Mr. Mensing was born Nov. 19, 1883 in Springfield township, Cedar county, the son of Diedrich and Louise Mensing and lived in Lowden and the neighboring community until 1910 when he went to Faribault county, Minn., and located on a farm near Blue Earth, where he lived until his retirement in 1946.

He was married on March 5, 1911, to Ida Deter of Farmington, Minn., who preceded him in death in 1954.

He is survived by 3 sons, Herbert Mensing, Anchorage, Alaska, Henry Jr. and Emil, Blue Earth; 4 daughters, Mrs. Irene Larweek, Princeton, Minn.; Mrs. Esther Yahnke, Jordon, Minn. and Milda and Louise Mensing, Blue Earth, Minn.; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Louis and Charles, Blue Earth, Minn. and Paul, Albert (A.L.) and William, Lowden.

Attending the services from Lowden were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mensing, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Mensing, William Mensing, Mrs. August Malottki, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mensing, W. R. Mensing, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Licht, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Licht, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Stolte, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bentrott. Also Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bushing of Stanwood and Alma Ernsting and Mrs. Lawrence Kline of Clarence.
