Ernestine Louise Wiese London, 81, of Moody, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Wilbern Michalk officiating. Burial will follow at Moody-Leon Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Ernestine Louise was born in White Hall, Texas, to the late Ernest and Antonia (Karnowski) Wiese. She attended Stampede Schoolhouse through the third grade and Moody schools through high school where she graduated in 1948. She graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1952. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Sul Ross University in 1975. She married James N. London on May 30, 1953. They were the first couple to be married in the newly built First Baptist Church in Moody. They moved to Odessa in 1953, both pursuing careers in education. They lived in Odessa for 35 years where they raised their family. They had three children, Dennis London, Ernest London and Albert London. In 1987, James and Ernestine returned to Bell County to property that had belonged to Ernestine's grandparents since 1895. There they enjoyed their retirement years raising cattle in the beautiful central Texas countryside. She volunteered at King's Daughters Hospital, was a member of the Bell County Chapter of the Republican Women of Texas, the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher sorority, BSU, member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she volunteered with the food pantry and also attended Moody-Leon Methodist Church. She enjoyed many activities such as folk art painting, arts and crafts, crochet and quilting. Ernestine had a deep love of cooking that she shared with her neighbors and family. She had a great love for her family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest London; and a sister, Irene Pressley.

Survivors include her husband, James N. London, of Moody; sons, Dennis London and wife, Marian, and Albert London, all of Moody; grandchildren, Leah London Clancy and husband, Dan, of North Canton, Ohio, and Natalie London Hull and husband, Tom, of Austin; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Anna, Ky and Micah Clancy, all of North Canton, Ohio; sister, Alice Fehler, of McGregor; other family members and many friends.
