Enlisted July 10, 1862, at Ravenswood, Jackson Co., WV.; Mustered in Sep. 22, 1862, at Parkersburg, Wood Co., WV as Sergeant; Promoted to First Sergeant, Dec. 27, 1864; Promoted to Captain Feb. 19, 1865, due to Captain Dixon R. King's end of service; Mustered out June 17, 1865, at Richmond, VA.
