Death of Mrs. John J. Thomas

One of the saddest deaths in Lehi for some time occurred early on Friday morning when Mrs. Myra Thomas breathed her last and left behind a loving husband and large family, the youngest being only five days old. For several days before her death, she was very sick and it was seen that she was gradually sinking. All that was possible was done for her but it was of no avail. Her daughter Mrs. Elias Jones, has the baby and will care for it.

Mrs. Myra Clark Thomas was 45 years and 10 months of age, and was the mother of 12 children, 10 of whom are still living. She came to Lehi with her parents in 1850 and has lived here ever since and was known by nearly every person in this city. The funeral services were held at the Meeting House on Monday morning and the house was filled to overflowing with a sympathetic audience. Appropriate remarks were made by Elders A. O. Smoot of Provo and A. J. Evans. A large cortege followed the remains to the cemetery.
