Mrs Ed Henry Dies Sunday Night
Mrs Ed M. Henry, age 47 years, passed away Sunday night, May 26th, at 8:45 o'clock at the Audrain Hospital in Mexico. She ws admitted to the hospital on Wednesday when she underwent an operation from which she failed to recover, She had been in ill health for several weeks but her conditions was not considered serious until Wednesday.
Mildred Anna Taylor was born April 9, 1888, the daughter of Mr and Mrs J.W. Taylor, near Excello, Mo. She was married to Ed M. Henry September 4, 1910 and to this union were born ten children all of who survive their mother,
When a young girl Mrs Henry joined the Presbyterian church at Excello where she was a regular attendant.
She was a kind wife and a devoted mother, always working for some of her family. She bore her burdens without complaint and was always willing to help others in times of need.
Mrs Henry, with her family, came to Vandalia to reside a number of years ago and during her residence here has made many friends.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs Alpha Ames of Mexico, Mrs Melvin Trower of this city, Orpha, Ruth, Priscilla, Beulah, Billy Earl, Betty Jean, Jim Frank and Eddie Monroe, all of the home. She is also survived by her mother, two brothers, Ben Taylor and Dan Taylor of this city, three sisters, Mrs Leroy Montgomery of Carlo Mo, Mrs Edgar Jackson and Miss Zula Taylor, both of Vandalia and a number of other close relatives. Her father proceded her in death December 19 1933 and one sister Miss Ruth Taylor, died twelve years ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'Clock from the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. C.J. Chappell, pastor, and burial was made in the Vandalia cemetery.
