Mr. Chambliss worked in dry wall construction. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Chambliss Tangye; his father, Marvin Chambliss; and a sister, Marie Gamble.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Chambliss of Purvis; six sons, Kevin Chambliss of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Ricky Chambliss, Tony Chambliss, Jimmy Cooper, David Cooper and Arthur Joe Cooper all of Purvis; a sister, Susan Johnson of Purvis; a brother, Billy Chambliss of D'Iberville; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 – 10 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis.
