Mr. Whitaker, a resident of Maryville, Mo., was employed at the Quaker Oats Co., here before moving to Maryville 15 years ago. He was a native of Atchison, Kan.
Mr. Whitaker and his son operated Whitaker Feeds, Inc., of Maryville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Moila Temple of St Joseph and the Maryville Chamber of Commerce. He formerly served as a city councilman at Maryville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva Mae Whitaker of the home; one son, W. H. Whitaker, Jr., of Maryville; one daughter, Mrs. Hugh Branch of Cut Bank, Mont.; one brother, Harold Whitaker of Cummings, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gilmore and Mrs. Raymond Keithline, both of Atchison; and seven grandchildren."
