Mrs. Lena Alvis, 93, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday in Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home. A native of Brownsboro, Tenn., she had lived in The Puritan, 1244 S. Fourth. She was a retired saleslady and a member of Fourth Methodist Church. Mrs. Alvis was one of the founders and the first president of Crescent Hills Woman's Club. The former Lena Moore, she was the widow of Joe Nick Alvis. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Lanham; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at Pearson Funeral Home, 1310 S. Third, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
