Agnes Maria Henning, daughter of John R. Wangstrom and Josefina R. Carlson, was born on March 11, 1908 in Essex, IA. She graduated from Wausa High School and attended Wayne State College.
She was married to Frederick Vincent Largen on March 21, 1933 in Omaha. The couple had two sons, Fred and Tom. She married R. Bruce Henning on October 15, 1966.
She taught rural school near Wausa and was an accomplished singer. She moved to New York City and was chosen to sing in the chorus for the grand opening of the Radio City Music Hall in 1933.
Agnes was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton and Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She belonged to the Creighton Womens Club, Easter Star and the Ida Nicola Book Club. She was a National Officer of the Lutheran Church Women, Church Choir Director at Creighton and Norfolk and an avid bridge player.
She passed away on Thursday, May 25 in Hamburg, IA at the age of 92.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Fred and Janet Largen of Creighton and Dr. Tom and Perk Largen of Hamburg, IA; five grandchildren; 2 step granddaughters; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fritz Largen and R. Bruce Henning; brothers, Oscar and Gunnard Wangstrom and sisters, Elsie Tunberg and Hildur Lingren.
