Funeral services for Lida Brandt, 91, of Creighton were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton with Reverend Olin Belt officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery of Creighton. Pallbearers were Archie Moser, Charley Brandt, Derlin Brandt, Charley Meyer, Boyd Cool and Emory Morrison.
Lida Bernice Cool, daughter of Matthew and Emma (Valentine) Cool, was born August 26, 1895 at Blue Vale, York County, Ne. She died at the Creighton Care Centre Wednesday, April 1.
At the age of 10 she moved with her parents to a home southwest of McCool Junction. Here she completed her grade school education. She attended high school in McCool Junction, graduating in 1912. She attended York College, York for one year. She then started teaching school in a rural school in Holt County, southwest of Inman. She also taught several years in Knox and York County schools.
She was united in marriage to Donley E. Brandt on May 25, 1921 at Fremont. They observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1971. To this union three daughters and two sons were born.
The first 35 years of their married life was spent on the family farm 11 miles west of Creighton, at which time they retired and purchased a home in Creighton. She always enjoyed her family, reading, sewing, gardening and her flowers.
Mrs. Brandt had been a resident of the Creighton Care Centre since July 1981.
Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Wendell (Leta) Morrill of Orchard and Mrs. Robert (Norma) Morrill of Creighton; two sons, Doyt Brandt of Creighton and Archie Brandt of Royal; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Florence) Brandt of Creighton and one brother, Harry Cool of Willits, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Mildred; one great grandson; her parents; three sisters and one brother.
