Death Takes D.W. Beem
Pioneer Knox Settler

The Grim reaper, death, has taken another one of our pioneer farmers of this community. Daniel Wesley Beem, age 73 years, passed away at his home southeast of Creighton on Sunday, March 5th. Mr. Beem had been in failing health for several months. His death brought sadness to a large following of friends.

For forty-one years he had been a resident of the Creighton vicinity and was a substantial and progressive farmer. He was modest and retiring by nature, yet strong in mind and in good fellowship. He will always be remembered by his good qualities.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Oscar Martin, Creighton and Ezra Richard, Denver; one brother and one sister, Lyman Beem and Elizabeth Beem, both of Carpenteria, Calif; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two daughters preceded Mr. Beem in death, Mrs. Emily Clara Burt died in the year 1905 and one daughter died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon from the M.E. church at 2 o'clock with Rev. R.B.E. Hill in charge. The Masonic Lodge of which the deceased was a member will conduct their services at the grave.

To those who mourn the passing of this estimable gentleman, we extend profound sympathy.
