Suddenly by Death
Henry Avery passed away at the Orchard hospital Tuesday morning at 1:00. Mr. Avery was taken ill on Saturday and had to be taken immediately to Orchard for an emergency operation for ulcers of the stomach, and not being able to withstand the ordeal he passed peacefully to the great beyond. Friends who were privileged to know him will mourn his untimely death.
Henry Austin Avery was born on July 13, 1880 in a little log house at the farm home south of Bazile Mills. At that time the village of Bazile Mills was a thriving little city and Creighton was just a small settlement, the railroad not having been built through. The deceased was one of the early pioneers of this county and attended the public school at Bazile Mills. In his youth his spine was affected in a fall, which resulted in mental disability. Even with this handicap through life, Henry was a good worker and a big help to his mother on the farm.
Besides his mother, Mrs. Eunice Avery, he leaves to mourn, one brother, Willis Avery and two sisters, Mrs. Lila Rich of St. Joe, Mo. and Mrs. M.O. Cheney of Los Angeles, Calif,
Funeral services will be held from the Federated church on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Ramseyer officiating. Burial will be beside his father, who preceded him in death in 1923.
The News and friends unites in extending profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
