Sarah Turner was born in 1854 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Clough) Turner, who were natives of England. Her parents came to Pennsylvania, then to Illinois in 1856 when Sarah was 2 years old. They purchased land in Newton township and engaged in farming.
Sarah married William M. Miller in 1888, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Thompson Miller. They farmed in Newton township and were the parents of two sons, Milo C. and Claude E., who also farmed in the township.
William Miller died August 31, 1905. Sarah died in 1923. burial in Kingsbury Cemetery.
