William Robert "Bob" Basham, 94, Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2002, at John Knox Village Care Center. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13th at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will hold a private committal service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Monday, October 14th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the NorthCare Hospice, c/o North Kansas City Hospital.
Bob was born February 18, 1908, in Ray County, MO. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1965, following many years service. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. Bob was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Wayne and Robert Noel Basham and two grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Martha E. Basham of the home, son, Ken Basham, Blue Springs, MO, daughter, Barbara E. Downes, Kansas City, MO, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two greatgreat-grandchildren. (Arrangements: D.W.
