George Brown, 87, died Wednesday at his home at 1220 East Side Boulevard.
Mr. Brown was a farmer for many years and had retired from an active farm life. He was born in Roscoe, Mo., April 12, 1863, and went to Butler county Nebraska, when he was seven years of age. In 1909 he moved to a farm in Adams county which was his home until 1945 when the family came to Hastings. He was the last of a family of 13 children.
He is survived by his widow, Della May; a daughter, Mrs. Onno Valentine; three sons, Walter of Wichita, Kan., Floyd and Lloyd of Hastings; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Brand Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Edward Watson of Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Valley cemetery.
