Marvin was a US Navy Veteran of WWII having served in the Philippine Islands.
He lived in Negaunee Township since 1946. He was employed by Lake Shore, Inc. of Marquette as an electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
Marvin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Negaunee, the Negaunee Elks and the Negaunee Senior Center Pinochle and Cribbage Leagues. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially on Lake Superior.
Surviving are his wife Bertha (Anderson) Wommer, two daughters, Deanna (Joseph) St. Andre, Ishpeming, Barbara (Paul) Smith, Negaunee Twp., and one son Gary (Cindy) Wommer, Negaunee Twp.; several grand children and great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Burton (Mary) Wommer, Ishpeming, George (Carol) Wommer, Anaheim, CA, Don Wommer, Sioux Ste. Marie, MI, one sister, Elaine (Earl) Gady, Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Clarice Herrala and Lauris Chevrette.
