LEWIS, MILDRED INEZ - age 97 of Powell, TN, passed away peacefully from this life into the next on the morning of June 22, 2012. She was born on October 19, 1914 to the late Moss and Lucille Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Gene; a sister, Louise; and a loving grandson, William Anthony Wolfe (Tony). She is survived by her sister, Mary Campbell; her only daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Tom) Brewer; and two grandsons, David Thomas Wolfe (Christine Diaz) and Randall Wayne Brewer (Jennifer Stover); seven great grandchildren, Danielle Wolfe, Meghan and Conner Wolfe, Tiffany Stover, and Kayla, Chandler, and Carson Brewer. Mildred was lucky enough to be able to show her love to two great-great grandchildren, Sydney and Michael Robinson. There are also a host of nieces and nephews and their children. Ms. Lewis worked for the ACTWU as a strike organizer until her retirement in 1980. After retiring from the union she started a second career as a vendor for several companies, allowing potential buyers to sample various products. A heart attack at the age of 94 finally forced her to retire completely. She also loved gardening and cooking for her family. It was never a bother for her to be able to make another person's day better as she filled the world with warmth, cheer and smiles. Family and friends will meet 1:30 p.m. Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. www.mynattfh.com
