Betty L. Treft, 65 of South Sioux City died Friday, April 28, 2006 at a Sioux City Hospital following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Services were Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Daniel Wittrock officiating. Burial was in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Betty was born December 6, 1940 in Parsons, Kansas the daughter of Everett and Eva (Ruby) Walker. She grew up in the Parsons area. She married Charles Adam Gamblian Jr. of Parsons and to this union seven children were born. They later divorced.

Betty moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1957. She married Lloyd E. Treft on September 8, 1981 in Seattle. The couple lived in Seattle until moving to South Sioux City in 1991.

She loved to crochet, do jigsaw puzzles and she loved to go fishing. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband: Lloyd, one son: William and his wife Lynn Gamblian of Parsons, Kansas, two daughters: Patty and her husband Ron Welty of Parsons and Darlene and her husband Kenneth Meyers of Sioux City, two stepsons: Lloyd Lee "Butch" and his wife Janet Treft of Olathe, Kansas and Jody Ellis and his wife Dian Treft of Liberty, Missouri, a sister: Sue and her husband Raymond Mann of Mississippi and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Steven Eugene Gamblian (Nov 06, 1954 - Aug 13, 1975) and Charles Richard Gamblian (Nov 23, 1961 - Feb 15, 1994) and an infant daughter Clara Jean Gamblian (June 19, 1959).

Pallbearers were Ernie Davis, Denny Dvorak, Freddie Goreham, Ricky Twiford, Dick Stephan and Terry Baxter.
