He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena M. Simmons, Camden; one son, Sylvester Simmons, Camden; two daughters, Miss Lena Jones and Miss Denise Simmons, both of Camden; his mother, Mrs. Janie Simmons, Statesboro; three brothers, Sylvester Simmons and Otis Simmons, both of Kansas City, Kan. and Bobby Simmons, Statesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Eloise Davis, Philadelphia, Pa. and Mrs. Betty Deuchler, Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren and other relatives.
The funeral service for Mr. Simmons will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Grove Baptist Church with the Elder Early Humphries officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. James R. Barnes Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
