HERBERT HAMILTON

Herbert Hamilton, 78, Clarksburg, died Monday at 1:26 a.m. en route to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hamilton was born Jan. 19, 1904, the son of Edwin S. and Ethel Bartholomew Hamilton. He lived in Decatur County most of his life in the Clarksburg and Kingston neighborhoods, where he farmed. He was a member of the Clarksburg Christian Church and served in World War I in the Army.

He is survived by his widow, Thelma Rosenberry Hamilton, whom he married March 1, 1923, in Decatur County. Also surviving are two sons: Robert Dale Hamilton, Los Angeles, Calif., and Harold Wayne Hamilton, R.R.6, Greensburg; three grandchildren: Roy Hamilton, California, Jim Hamilton, R.R.6, Greensburg and Bob Hamilton, R.R.8, Greensburg; one step-grandson, Gary L. Hamilton, Indianapolis and six great-grandchildren.

The services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeron Jackson officiating and with entombment in the South Park Mausoleum. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
