Charles was the son of Peter and Anna Maine D ) Butler, He and his parents as well as sisters Catherine and Wilhemina came to America in 1852, through New York. From New York he and parents went to Milford, Jefferson Co., Wisconsin and are shown in the 1860 Census there. Charles was Naturalized In Jefferson, Wisconsin in 1885.

He is next known to be in Spencer, McCook Co., S. Dakota in 1920. Have not found his death date yet.
