Mrs. May Albertson Murray was born on the Albertson farm at Kniffin, Wayne county, Iowa, May 5, 1859. She was raised in a Christian home, her father and mother being pioneers in Wayne county, who lived practiced Christian lives. She attended the country school at Kniffin and early in life became a Christian and joined the Methodist Epospical Church and remained a faithful consistent member.

She was married to C.W. Murray on February 26, 1885, and soon after their marriage bought the farm about one mile from her birth place and since that she and her husband have been known to their many friends as "Will" and "May."
She has always been active in everything that was for the good of the neighborhood, unselfish and ready to help in every good enterprise.

There were six children born in the family, two boys and four girls. One boy died when quite small, the other boy Rea Murray married and lives in Montana. The four girls live here in the neighborhood and are well known to all.

Mrs. Murray has been confined to the house for more than nine months, she suffered a great deal but was able to smile through it all and looked forward with a great deal of satisfaction to meeting her friends and relatives in the other world. She was conscious until the last moment of her life, and stated a goodbye to her husband with almost her last breath. She died Monday afternoon, December 5, 1921. She will be missed in her home and in the neighborhood in which her entire life has been spent.

The funeral was held from the late home Wednesday, December 7, conducted by the pastor of the Kniffin church.
Interment in Southlawn.
