Anna was born to Otho Joseph Hudgins (55395565) and Alice Bradley Clay (208069883). She was adopted by her aunt, Annie Inez Clay (92302140), and her uncle-by-marriage, Clarence Moore Campbell (91188385), after both of her parents died.

NEWPORT NEWS - Mrs. Anna Campbell Pilgrim, 77, lifelong Peninsula resident, died on Friday, Feb. 24, 1995.
Mrs. Pilgrim retired from the Civil Service at Ft. Monroe as a senior program analyst in 1983, after 34 years of service. She was a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. She was a longtime member of the Pioneer Toastmistress Club, having served as its president and several other offices.
She was the widow of the late, Ollaster C. Pilgrim. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Judy" C. Mahler of Newport News; her son, Michael Kent Pilgrim of McLean, Va.; her step-son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pilgrim of York County; and six grandchildren, Maggie Mahler, Samantha Mowell, Egan Pilgrim, Kevin Mahler, Brandt Pilgrim and Seth Pilgrim.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Peninsula Funeral Home by Rev. Augusta B. Vanderbilt. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials to Newport News Reading Council Books for Babies, Attn: Sue Rayfield, c/o Saunders Elementary School, 853 Harpersville Road, Newport News, Va. 23601.
