OBITUARY

THE OTSEGO FARMER, MARCH 17, 1922

Mrs. Emeline Force Wednesday morning, March 15th, at her late home at Toddsville occurred the death of Mrs. Emeline Stickles Force, after an illness of only eight days, as the result of an attack of pneumonia. Mrs, Force was born at Morris, May 5th, 1845, but came to Toddsville with her parents, the late Andrew and Elizabeth Stickles, when seven years of age, and had since been a resident of Toddsville, a period of seventy years, making her the oldest continuous resident of the village. About fifty-seven years ago she was united in marriage with Charles Peck, from whom she was later divorced, and forty years ago was married to the late John Force, deceased several years. To the first union two sons were born, George Peck residing with his mother, and Frank Peck, of Richfield Springs, to whom she has been particularly devoted, and they in turn have abundantly provided for -their mother's needs during her many years of widowhood. Surviving besides the sons named above are one brother Robert Stickles, now also a resident of Toddsville, and three grandchildren Clifford, Mildred and Dora Peck of Richfield Springs, also several nieces and nephews, to all of whom is extended the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this hour of sorrow. Mrs. Force was a woman of keen mentality, possessed a retentive mind and could recall at a moment's notice many events of local importance, and was highly esteemed for her many loveable
qualities, of unusual activity for one of her age her sudden passing brings a sense of sorrow and loss not only to the immediate family, but to the many local friends and neighbors of long standing acquaintance. Funeral services will be observed at the Toddsville Methodist Episcopal church at 1 p. m. Friday, the 17th. Interment in the family plot in the local cemetery.—Our Toddsville Reporter
