Dorothy Christine (Wampler) Collins Clark was born on July 26, 1922 SE of Temple, OK in the Hastings community to William Roy and Blanche Lillian (Morrison) Wampler and departed this life on August 29, 2012 in Lawton, OK.

Dorothy graduated from Temple High School in 1939 and married John Curtis Collins that same year. Dorothy and J.C. raised two daughters, Sylvia and LaRue. J.C. died in 1963. She later married Harold Gene Clark in1972 and traveled with him in his construction business until settling in Duncan, OK after their retirement. He died in 1999.

Dorothy professed Christ as her savior at an early age and enjoyed gospel music. She was a bookkeeper, working at various places through the years. She fondly remembered her time working at Cotton Electric in Walters and treasured all the friendships she made there. She was active in the VFW posts and the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Terre Haute, Indiana and Duncan, OK where she served many positions on the board. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, and enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Strohm; and both of her husbands.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Sylvia and Jim Booher of Walters, OK, LaRue and Gene Burton of Lebanon, OK; a brother Kenneth Wampler and wife Carrolyn, and a sister Annette Preston both of Burkburnett, TX; her grandchildren and spouses, Kurt (Janet) Burton, Kris Burton, Kindal (Joe) Rector, Kimberlie (Stan) Scherler, Kevin (Kathy) Smith, Lisa Galaka, and Mary Billings; great-grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer Burton, Bradley Burton, Collin Rector, Ashland Rector, Dustin (Ashtyn) Smith, Cody Smith, Shelbie Smith, Ryan (Emily) Scherler, Jill Scherler, Kacie Scherler, Sydney Scherler, Jessica (Jeff) Pierce, Quinn Jones, Jacob and David Allen Spencer; great-great grandchildren, Jocelyn and Finnegan Scherler, Jadie and Jackson Pierce; also a special nephew Steve Wampler (Nan Sue), and special nieces Sonja Preston and Teresa Patrick (Freddie) and other faithful friends and relatives.

PLEASE NOTE: Dorothy was buried by her second husband, Harold Clark. Originally it was planned for her to be buried by her first husband, JC Collins, Jr., hence the photo of that tombstone. Later, when JC & Dorothy's daughter, Sylvia, who wished to be buried next to her father, Dorothy's name was removed from JC's tombstone and Sylvia's added.
