She was born December 5, 1922 in Alterra, Utah to James H. and Gladys Walton Smith.
Jewell married her sweetheart Lawrence "Blackie" Clark, December 10, 1940 in Uintah County, Utah. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1987.
Jewell shared a deep love for the outdoors and her favorite outing was camping with her family. Grandma Jewell loved to keep busy and during her earlier years she enjoyed bowling, playing cards (pinochle) and dice with her sisters and daughters. One of her other favorite pastimes was gardening and tending to her flowers. Everyone always admired her yard and most mornings you could find Jewell watering her lawn, weeding the flowers or enjoying her favorite coffee. She spent her afternoons playing dice and crocheting. Her handiwork was beautiful and every year she seemed to bring home a blue ribbon from the county fair.
Jewell enjoyed the finer things in life and she'll forever be in our hearts. Her friends, family and being the first one to bathe the grand babies were her prized possessions. "We love and miss you grandma and were so glad you are with grandpa and your girls".
She is survived by two sisters and one brother, Marie Reisor, Vera (Carl) Stevens, Bill (Margo) Smith, all of California; sons-in-law, Terry Brown, Price, Pat Crabtree, Wellington; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters, Colleen Clark, Evelyn Brown and Nadeen Crabtree; three grandsons, Larry, Nathan and Terry; four sisters and three brothers.
