Tatiana Eiland-Clinton, the 3-year-old girl who drowned in a San Mateo Lagoon, will rest in peace in a Palo Alto Cemetery thanks to an offer her father called a "real blessing." Alta Mesa Funeral Home, which is part of the Alta Mesa Cemetery at 965 Arastradero Road, yesterday offered funeral and burial services free of charge to Tatiana's family. Funeral Home Manager Don van Straaten said he wanted to call the family himself to offer his services, but is prohibited from doing so because of state anti-solicitation laws. So he contacted the Post, which relayed the offer to the family.

Tatiana's father was overjoyed. "This would mean everything" Len Clinton said. "It's a true blessing." Van Straaten said the funeral home believes in helping out the community.

It's a little girl and the family has no money. Clinton said that the family had been trying to put together a fund for Tatiana's funeral. Many neighbors and friends have donated funds for the funeral, he said. Tatiana wandered away from her home on the 1500 block of Day Avenue on Saturday and died after falling in a lagoon behind her home.

"Her death was destined to happen," Clinton said. "It brought so many people together. With Alta Mesa offering to provide the services, Clinton said the family is now looking to donate the funds to help with autism or cystic fibrosis.

Her twin brother Deshawn has autism, as Tatiana did. And Deshawn also suffers from cystic fibrosis.

"Tatiana is now helping her brother." Clinton said. "She 's helping to guide him in ways that none of us could."

From "The Daily Post" - Wednesday, June 20, 2012.Tatiana Betina Eiland-Clinton, "Our Little Angel", was born Jan. 23, 2009 to Len Clinton and Deahna Eiland. On June 16, 2012 the Lord called his little 3 year old angel home. Also known at "Tati", she was a fun loving girl who loved to paint, play "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and go to pre-school where she was loved by everyone and who would smile and light up the room. Tatiana brought nothing but happiness and togetherness to all she had touched, she leaves her mother and father Deahna Len, sisters Jasmine Shayla, grandparents Ronald Betina Eiland; Doris Selvian and Lenvester Clinton. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins. But most of all, her twin brother, her other half, Deshawn where she can now be his guardian angel. We love and miss you Tati and we are going to keep on shining just like you always did. The visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Alta Mesa Funeral Home, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 29 at 11:30 AM at the above funeral chapel.
