Excerpt from Sheboygan Press Telegram, Tues. May 27, 1924, p. 4:1 Biography of John Bricker by Harriet Keach.

John Bricker returned home in October 1865. In fall of 1866 his marriage to Fanny Barber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barber, (neighbors) was solemnized. His father and mother sold their farm in the town of Plymouth and bought the farm in the town of Greenbush, which lies about 4 miles north, and which was later known as the Zager farm.

Here for a few years the young people made their home with the parents, with frequent visits by ox-team to Mrs. Bricker's old home in the town of Plymouth. There were many neighborhood social good times, as we have learned in previous articles. After a few years Mr. and Mrs. John Bricker bought the farm further north, which neighbored with the Alley farm and which is now the Schuricht property.

This was their home many years. Here their children, James – located at present as an oculist at Rhinelander, William (deceased), Mary now Mrs. Roy Gibson of Fond du Lac, and Clyde, dentist of Park Falls, were born and laid the foundations on the farm, for future well-being. A little over twenty years this happy life lasted then the wife was taken by that dreaded disease, pneumonia, leaving Clyde but a baby. This was in the winter. In June of the same year Mr. Bricker died, at the age of 69 years, and a few years later James Bricker died aged 75 years. The parents and wife are buried in the cemetery adjoining the brick church at North Greenbush, where they had attended during the years. Mr. Bricker then sold the house, filled with memories of happier days, and bought the place known as the Stratton farm, which lies about one mile west of the village.
