He was born at Wapato, WA on September 6, 1921. He grew up there and graduated from Wapato High school with the class of 1939.
On May 1, 1942 Dale married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Simchen, also of Wapato. To this union they had a son Michael (Carolyn) and their children Marcus, Diana, and Andrew all of Keyport WA; daughters, Sherry (Paul) Nance and Angie (Duke) Curtis and one great grandson all of Spokane.
Dale worked for the State of Washington Dept. of Game during his summers and after graduation he went to work for them managing the game farms in Wapato, Griffin Lake (by Mabton) and spent 15 years at the game farm in Ellensburg raising pheasants, before spending the last 7 years in Olympia overseeing all the State Game farms, finishing his 40 years working for the State of Washington Dept of Game.
Dale was a music lover and also loved to dance. He and his wife Betty had a band, with Dale on the Drums and Betty on the Piano. They played for 13 years at the Moose Club in Ellensburg among other locations. They had many happy times playing music and dancing with their friends.
Dale served his country proudly. During WWII he was stationed in India, Burma, and Central Burma. After his release he returned to Wapato to his job at the game farm.
He was a life member of the VFW, 30/30 Dance Club, and was a member of the Englewood Christian Church.
