Mrs. Mary Balsiger, widow of John Balsiger, passed away on November 1 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gearld Atkinson, in San Jose.
Mr. and Mrs. Balsiger, with their family, made their home on Parkway in Santa Cruz from 1903 to 1916, and then moved to a ranch near Atwater, Calfi. Mr. Balsiger passed away in 1922. Mrs. Balsiger lived in Atwater until five years ago, and from that time she made her home with her children.
She is survived by six children and three stepchildren, Mrs. Rosalie Atkinson, San Jose; Henry Balsiger, Bingen, Washington; Louis Balsiger, Atwater; Edward Balsiger, Richmond; Mrs. Adele Paulsen and Mrs. Marie Connelly, San Francisco; Mrs. Nina Palmer and John Balsiger, Santa Cruz and Mrs. Henry Peyrollaz, Carson, Washington. 17 grandchildren also survived her. Mrs. Balsiger was a native of Illinois, 67 years of age. She had been ill for over 2 years and during all her illness had the devoted care of her daughter, Mrs. Atkinson.
The services were at the Roger Darling mortuary, Monday afternoon, and the remains bured at Oak Hill cemetery, San Jose.
Mr. and Mrs. Darrow Palmer and Mrs. Alice Stimson from Santa Cruz attended the services.
