Mrs. George Lee Taken In Death
Mrs. George A. Lee (sic. George Albert Lee), life-time resident of Fairfield and Jefferson county, died at 7:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been in the hospital for the past three weeks and seriously ill the last 10 days.
Last rites will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. Harold G. Kruger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
She was born Edna Vivian Bates, the daughter of Glen and Hattie Engstrand Bates. Her birthdate was May 5, 1915. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and graduated from the Fairfield high school with the class of 1934.
She was married to George A. Lee on June 13, 1936, and the family farm is located about 4 1/2 miles northeast of Fairfield.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lee is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Larry Woolums, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Donald Hendricks, route 2, Fairfield; and Barbara Jean, at home; also her mother, Mrs. Hattie Bates, Fairfield; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
