Pliny Monroe George was in the Civil War, in the 15th Mass Regiment, Company I then Company G. He was wounded at Antietam, captured and held at Libby Prison. He was discharged for disability in1864 and returned home. He married at age 50 and fathered two children- Harold Plinny and Nina Elizabeth.
