Daniel was born the son of Edward Richards and Mary Head in [most likely] Dorchester County Maryland.

QUAKER BOTTOM
Edward moved the entire family first to an area which became known as Quaker Bottom where he associated with the original Gunpowder Meeting [of Quakers] in 1729. The first meeting house, made of logs, is long gone. A second building of stone still stands. It was built in 1778, is listed by the Maryland Historical Trust, and still sits [though in some disrepair] in Cockeysville MD on private property.
