Gloria "Glo" Abundiz, 79, died Friday at Kaiser Hospital, Vallejo, after a long illness. Born in Hanford, Ca., Mrs. Abundiz, or "Grandmama," was a resident of Vallejo. She worked for the Vallejo City Unified School District as a baker in the Hogan High School cafeteria for 15 years before retiring in 1990.

Our beloved mother and grandmother loved dancing, shopping and a good movie. She especially enjoyed traveling to the Central Valley to visit her family and friends, and short trips to the ocean.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 315 and St. Vincent Ferrer Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, John J. Abundiz; beloved mother, Juanita Moreno, sister, Ermalinda Garcia; brother, Walter Moreno; and loving nephew, Freddie Garcia.

Survivors include her daughters, Juanita (John Pryor) J. Scola, Barbara (Larry) Poni and Jackie Abundiz; son, Ronald (Christina) Abundiz; six grandchildren, Stacey (Lou) DelRosario, Joe Scola III, Kirk Abundiz, Andrea Johnson, Galen Abundiz and Anna Romero; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher (JaeAnn) Puckett, Christina Puckett, Vincent DelRosario and Jacklin DelRosario.
