Ramona was born on April 2, 1931 in Gullup to Jose and Doloritas Gonzales Sandoval. She was the fourth of eleven children. Her siblings are: Luis Gabriel, Oralia, Eileen, Leandro I, Jose Jr., Artie, Paul Leo, Leandro, Nancy and Stella.

She was married to Joe Casias and between them they had four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, Brothers: Luis, Leandro I, Jose Jr, Artie and Paul and by her sisters: Oralia and Eileen.
