Obituary, The Oklahoman, June 17, 2012:
CHOCTAW--Glenda Bethel Henson was born in Peoria, IL on January 11, 1940. Her parents were Virgil and Gertie Bethel. Her father was an oil field welder and worked in Illinois, Indiana, Texas and Oklahoma early in her life. They moved to Seminole, OK late in 1944. She attended New Lima Elementary and Junior High before they moved to Midwest City in 1952. She graduated from Choctaw High School in 1956 and remains close to her classmates.

She married James Henson in June 1957 shortly before he was drafted. She moved to Laurel, MD while he was stationed at Fort Mead until 1959. Their daughter Lisa was born in September 1960 in Oklahoma City. She was a church secretary, Oklahoma City public school secretary before going to OIC of Oklahoma County in 1975. She retired from OIC in 2005 after being the Executive Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Director of Resource Development Teacher and Guidance Counselor. She was a graduate of Rose State Community College and Southern Nazarene University with hours toward a Master's in Community counseling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Lisa's father; and her late-in-life companion, Paul S. Eddy Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Eddy; son-in-law, Paul S. Eddy Jr.; daughters, Carolyn Griffith, Judy Mullally and Patti Walker; grandson, Paul S. Eddy III; great-granddaughter, Prudence Eddy; her mother and stepfather, JoAnn and Charlie Russell; and a host of other relatives. She leaves behind longtime companion, her dog, Dundee. Services will be held at the Barnes Friederich Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2012
