CHERRYFIELD - Irene Elizabeth (Dobbins) Lamson, 89, died peacefully with her family at her side at Down East Community Hospital in Machias. She was born the daughter of Austin L. and Eva Belle (Faulkingham) Dobbins. She graduated from high school in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. Irene worked for Sears and Roebuck until she married her husband Clyde F. Lamson in 1949. She then moved to Jonesport and worked for 10 years at R.H. Rogers as a sales clerk. In 1960 she moved to Atkinson, New Hampshire to work as a cashier. In 1986 they moved back to Cherryfield to reside at Narraguagus Estates. In addition to her husband of nearly 55 years, Clyde, of Cherryfield, she is survived by two sisters; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her stepfather, John Davis; two sisters and three brothers. Graveside memorial services were held at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport.
