Mr. Alton Goodrich "Tunney" Brooks, age 84, of Edenton, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Friday, May 04, 2012 at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. He was born in Nash County on June 28, 1927.
In addition to his parents, Wade Ruffin Brooks and Bronna Bray Brooks; he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys "Frances" Brooks.
Mr. Brooks is survived by two sons, Richie Brooks and wife, Carol of Lumberton, NC and John Brooks and wife, Sherri of Easley, SC; one daughter, Debbie Morris and husband, Enoch of Springfield, MO; one sister, Ellen Deans of Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Alton G. Brooks Scholarship Fund, LHS Booster Club, P.O. Box 3726, Lumberton, NC 28359 or to: Vidant Hospice Service, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, NC 27910.
