Ben was 1st married to Emma L. Jones in 1897 in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama. They were the parents of Velva Evers.
Ben married 2nd Mary Fannie Deal on 13 Aug 1907 in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama. They were the parents of Cleo, Mack, Mattie A., Roxie and Lucille.

Wealthy Mill Owner And Boy Meet Death Under Lumber Truck...

Alexander City, Jan 27-----Special to the Advertiser--Ben O. Evers and his 18 year old son, Howard (Mack) were killed instantly at 12 o'clock today on the road near Eagle Creek school when a heavily loaded lumber truck plunged over an embankment.

The truck was making a curve in the road when Mr. Evers, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle. Unable to control the machine, it plunged into a ravine. The bodies were badly mangled.

Mr. Evers was a wealthy Tallapoosa County mill owner and had recently purchased the truck in which he and his son were killed.

Mr. Evers resided several miles from Alexander City, where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, it is said.
