Lawrence W. "Larry" Bohlman Jr., age 68, of Machesney Park, IL formerly a lifelong resident of Belvidere, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.

Larry was born to Lawrence and Margaret (nee Faith) Bohlman on June 8, 1938. After high school, he joined the U.S. Armed Forces, serving in Lebanon and Korea. After he returned from service, he did many things before going into the plumbing business. He loved to fish, hunt and raise various farm animals. His favorite sport was bowling and continued for more than 40 years, winning many trophies for his accomplishments. From the late '70s through the '80s, every Saturday morning he gave his time to coach young bowlers. In January 1973, he joined the Loyal Order of Moose, helping sponsor children at Mooseheart and seniors at Moosehaven. In 1994, he was awarded the highest degree possible by a member, the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. After retiring he and his wife, Martha, moved to Machesney Park.

Along with his wife of 20 years, Larry is survived by his daughters, Tammi (Kirby) Wallace of Wonder Lake, Terri Bohlman of Milwaukee, WI, and Lorri Anne (Dewane Taylor) Mason of Wichita Falls, TX; step-children, Donald (Beth) Sawyer of Holcomb, Jimmy Lee Sawyer of Leaf River, Curtis (Tari) Harson and Tammy (George) Revera of Loves Park; step-children from a previous marriage, Laurie Lynn (Enrique) Martinez of San Marcos, CA, and John (Maggie) Klonecki of Roscoe; 12 granddaughters; four grandsons; one great-grand-daughter; one great-grandson; brother, Robert (Teresa) Bohlman of Belvidere; sisters, Louise (Chuck) Chapman and Kathleen Munn, all from Antlers, OK; brother-in-law, Paul (Marilyn) Jackson of Janesville, WI; and sister-in-law, Rayma (Bob) Colwell of Rockton; many nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Joe Bohlman; and lifelong friend, James Tarro of Rockford.
