Myrtle May Brown was born in February 1893 in Texas, daughter of John Wesley Brown (1852-1934) and America Malinda Williams (1861-1942).

The Arkansas County Marriages Index, 1837-1957 shows that Myrtle Brown, age 20, married Thomas Suggs, age 22, in Conway County, Arkansas on August 17, 1913.

Thomas Arthur Suggs who was born in February 1891 in Arkansas, son of Wiley H. Suggs (1852-1931) and Rebecca Elizabeth McCaslin (1861-1952).

The 1920 Federal Census for Mountain Park, Oklahoma (Kiowa County) shows Myrtle Suggs, age 27, born in Texas; and her husband, Thomas A. Suggs, a farmer, age 29, born in Arkansas. Living with them were three children: Bernice Suggs, age 5, born in Arkansas; Cordell Suggs, age 3 years 2 months, born in Oklahoma; and Olen Suggs, age 11 months, born in Arkansas. They were living with Myrtle's father, John W. Brown, a retired farmer, age 66, born in Georgia; and her mother, A. Malinda, age 56, born in Arkansas. Also living in the household were Myrtle's siblings: Alvin Brown, a farm laborer, age 19, born in Arkansas; and Mertie Brown, age 27, born in Texas.

The 1940 Federal Census for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) shows Myrtle Suggs, age 47, born in Texas; and her husband, Thomas Suggs, a cement construction laborer, age 49, born in Arkansas. Living with them were four children: Alan Suggs, a cabinet maker in a retail furniture store, age 21, born in Arkansas; L. D. Suggs, a cabinet maker in a retail furniture store, age 18, born in Arkansas; Arlene Suggs, age 13, born in Oklahoma; and Laverne Suggs, age 11, born in Oklahoma.

Myrtle and Thomas both died sometime in 1977 in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and were buried in the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
