Death of Fred Maschmann

Fred Maschmann died suddenly Thursday afternoon, June 25, 1964 at his farm near Ruskin, Neb. where he had resided all his life. He had reached the age of 64 years, 10 months and 9 days.

The son of Fred Maschmann and Louise Kunker Maschmann, he was born August 18, 1909 on a farm near Ruskin, Neb. He was baptized Sept 5, 1909 at St. Paul's Lutheran church (sic) near Deshler and was confirmed there on July 1, 1923.

On Sept 24, 1939 he was married to Esther Kriesel at the Zion Evangelical church (sic) near Gladstone, Neb. Four sons were born to the couple.

Surviving are his wife, Esther: four sons, Fred, a recent graduate of Doane college (sic), Crete, Bruce, a student at Doane college (sic), and Joel and Glen at home; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Renken of Chester, Mrs. Katherine Kolling of Ruskin, Mrs. Sophia A. Atenhan and Mrs. Emma Atenhan of Deshler and Mrs. Ella Black of Omaha; four brothers, William and Henry of Ruskin, Albert of Fruitland Idaho and Harold of Hebron other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Mrs. Lena Tambke.

Funeral services were Sunday afternoon, June 28, in the Peace Lutheran church (sic) at Deshler with Rev Schwerin officiating. Burial was in the Deshler cemetery.
