William Dale volunteered in April 1968 to serve in the US Marine Corps at the height of the Vietnam War. He was sent to Vietnam and severely wounded in Sept. 1969. He spent a year recuperating at Millington Naval Hospital outside of Memphis. He was awarded a Purple Heart as a result of this injury. He was partially disabled for the remainder of his life.
Son of William Ellis Sullivan and Mary Lucille Hill Sullivan.
