She is the daughter of James R. and Charlotte (Hawes) Leabo, who were among the pioneers in the settlement of hte state, coming here in 1852. Her father was a native of Tennessee and her mother was born in Iowa. Her parents had 5 children: Elizabeth, the wife of Amos Cliff, of Portland; Lola M., Lola Mast; Sterling, a resident of Astoria, Oregon; Roland, home is in Portland; and Predetta, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
