Frances Swetz (nee Sajdak) of Yonkers died on Friday May 11, 2012 after a wonderful 95 years of a life well lived.

She was born on January 29, 1917 in Yonkers to Frances and John Sajdak where she was raised and educated at St. Casimir's School, Yonkers High and St. Joseph's School of Nursing, receiving her RN degree. On May 23, 1937, she married Thomas Swetz at St. Casimir's Church. He predeceased her in 1999.

She did private nursing then stayed home to raise her sons. She returned to nursing at St. John's Hospital, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Senior Citizen's Group 6.

She is survived by sons Thomas (Carol) of Yonkers, Ken (Wanda) of Bonita Springs, FL, Edward (Angelina) of Yonkers and James of Canadensis, PA. and a brother Ed Sajdak. She was predeceased by brothers, Mike and John and sisters, Stella and Tessie. She is also survived by her grandchildren Donna Clark, Tom Swetz, Stacey Mulvaney, James, Matthew and Megan Swetz and five great grandchildren, Samantha, Ken and Patrick Clark and TJ and Brandon Swetz.

She was an amazing cook and crocheted for the whole family. She made blankets for her great grandchildren who called them their "Babci blankets". She will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends.

Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bartholomew's Church on Wednesday May 16th at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
