Civil War...17th Alabama Co DGeorge Pruitt, born in 1830. George and Nancy had four daughters. He fought in the Civil War and was captured in Tennessee, near Franklin or Nashville. He died in 1865 and is buried in Cave Hill National Cemetary, Plot # 6R62, Louisville, Kentucky.

This man is listed in all the cemetery records as Pvt George J. Pruett, Co. A 17th Alabama Infantry. He is buried with a small group of CSA soldiers among all those yanks. Section C.
