Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attended U. of Wisconsin, where she met her future husband, William Heberling Holmes. They married in New York City, 1916. Thereafter, lived in Michigan for many years. Member, Michigan Daughters of the American Revolution. Had three children: Barbara Herbert Holmes, Mary Kennerly Herbert Holmes, and Kathryn Osgood Holmes.
